Have you ever heard the saying, “your thoughts are either life giving or life draining?” I can attest to this powerful statement and the impact it has had on my life.
In college, I read the book “Battlefield of the Mind” by Joyce Meyer and it changed my life forever. This introduced me to the massive world of positive affirmations, conscious vs unconscious thinking, habit forming thoughts and how our energy and vibrations directly impact our lives. Let’s just say I was blown away and (per usual) dove into research mode while applying everything I was learning into my own life.
One of the best habits I have formed over the last decade is writing and speaking positive affirmations over my life- in every area and season of my life.
Today, as a mother, having a set of positive affirmations to speak over my current season is vital. We all know that this parenting thing comes with No manuals... but the most important thing we can do on this journey is practice positive self talk and form habits that will give us the strength and courage to continue growing and learning.
It’s really easy to spew exactly how we are feeling at every difficult moment, but it takes practice and discipline to speak positively into our situations and our future. Even if we do not see it or feel it at the moment.
A positive mindset affects our behavior and actions. It allows us to show up with an attitude of, “I got this,” or “this too shall pass.” or “I will try again tomorrow!”
I have put together 20 Affirmations for you to download, and even print and place it somewhere where you will see it daily. The thing about having a positive mindset, is it takes daily practice. It’s like working out a muscle- that muscle stays strong when it is being worked out, but get weak and atrophies when you stop using it. It’s a lifetime journey.
